I designed the entire hardware architecture from scratch, defining every single connection so the LED matrix and the control components talk to each other in the best way. In the same way, the software that brings the pixels to life was written line by line, optimised to deliver a fluid, responsive and intelligent experience.
From the first solder joint on the printed circuit board to the last firmware test, every step happens before my eyes and on my workbench. Creating technology means having total control over it: only this way can a digital object become a work of handcrafted art.

- Total Night Comfort (optional)
- At night, the clock automatically switches to a softer colour palette and dims the LEDs to the minimum level you set, so it won't disturb your sleep but stays readable.
- Automatic Shut-off in the Dark (optional)
- Want total darkness to sleep? When you turn off the room light, the clock detects it and switches the display off completely. It turns back on by itself as soon as a ray of sunlight comes in or you switch the light on.
- Customisable Daytime Window
- You decide the rules of time. Set the hours when the clock is free to express its full brightness, and when instead it should start being discreet.

アカウントやサブスクリプションは必要ですか？
いいえ。DotClockにはアカウントもアプリもクラウドもありません。同じWi-Fiネットワーク上のブラウザから設定するだけです。サブスクリプション料金は一切かかりません。
天気データはどこから取得していますか？
DotClockはGoogle Weather APIから天気を、各国の公式フィードから防災警報を、USGS Earthquake APIから地震データを、公開RSSフィードからニュースを取得しています。
GPSなしでどうやって現在地を知るのですか？
はい。周囲のWi-Fiネットワークを使用して大まかな位置を三角測量します。現地の天気や日の出時間には十分な精度ですが、個人を特定するほど正確ではありません。
夜は眩しくて眠れませんか？
その心配はありません。環境光センサーがパネルを連続的に暗くします。また、「暗くなったら完全に消灯」というルールを設定することもできます。
言語は変更できますか？
はい。9つの言語が組み込まれています。言語はバナーのテキスト（曜日、月）とローカルニュースフィードの両方を制御します。
Wi-Fiが変わったり引っ越したりした場合は？
時計が保存されたネットワークにアクセスできない場合、デバイス名のWi-Fiホットスポットを作成します。スマートフォンから接続し、新しい情報を入力するだけです。
