DotClock retrieves real-time weather based on your location, official civil-protection alerts and global seismic data from the USGS. The news scrolls via the public RSS feeds of the major international outlets.

It uses the Wi-Fi networks visible around you to triangulate an approximate automatic geolocation. It's ideal for giving you the exact local weather and sunrise and sunset times, while guaranteeing maximum privacy because it never tracks your exact position.

Absolutely not. The integrated BH1750 sensor monitors the room and continuously dims the LEDs. You can choose a restful tone for the night or activate the 'Turn Off When Dark' mode: this way the clock switches off completely as soon as you turn off the room light, then wakes by itself in the morning.

The clock is polyglot and natively supports 4 languages: Italian, English, Spanish, French. The chosen language automatically adapts both the banner texts (days, months) and the source of the news feed.

If the clock can't find the saved network, it automatically becomes a Wi-Fi hotspot called 'DOTCLOCK-XXXXX'. Just connect from your phone using the security password engraved on the back of the shell, open the browser at http://192.168.4.1 and select the new network.

The LED matrix has an estimated life of about 50,000 hours of operation. The birch shell uses no plastic paints that peel: the artisan treatment with black stain and boiled linseed oil penetrates the fibres, protecting the wood and letting it breathe, destined to age beautifully.
